B18 Engine Swap

B18 Acura Integra engine swaps into Honda civic's are one of the most common swaps to perform. This is due to the simplicity and horsepower gains one receives when the switch is made. I performed the engine swap in a weekend but it can be done faster if all bolts are not rusted or seized. The ONE new part that is needed to perform the swap into a Honda civic hatchback is the shift linkage; the one from the Integra or the civic will not fit. There are only a couple of companies who make these shifter's and I bought mine from Hasport.com. There were no problems with the installation of the linkage and the fit was perfect. Also, the trans axles have to be from the B18 but can be from a B16 also. All of the wiring matches up with each other except the O2 sensor; that I had to hard wire into my ECM. But it's all worth it because of the shear horsepower difference. With my swap, I have a stock B18 engine with Skunk 2 headers, B16 tranny, cold air intake, and a catback exhaust which combined beat a new Nissan 350 Z in a quarter mile!

Exhaust

Exhaust is another way to enhance the performance and look of your vehicle. A full exhaust or catback system should be installed instead of just a "performance muffler." Performance exhaust frees up airflow going out of the engine and in essence creates more horsepower. But there is a limit on how big exhaust piping can go before it actually hurts the performance aspect. Every engine needs a little amount of pressure and if exhaust piping gets too large, then the back pressure disappears and performance is lost; engines can even explode because of little or no back pressure. An example would be like blowing through a drinking straw compared to a cardboard roll of toilet paper. More air pressure is pushed through the proper sized tube than the over sized one. Engines are the same way. In addition, having a hole in the exhaust or muffler is not the same as having a performance exhaust. It may sound similar, but the performance aspect is totally different.

Lowering your vehicle

Lowering your vehicle is one of the most popular things to do to make your vehicle look ten times better. Lowered vehicles have a lower center of gravity which in turn makes it harder for a vehicle to roll over. It delivers better handling around corners and better take off; this is true because the both roll axis's are reduced significantly. In addition, it takes only a couple of hours to do if the right tools are available. WARNING, do not get the cheap EBAY lowering kits because they will not help. You get what you pay for, KEY STATEMENT.

Lambo Kit

Lambo Kits are an easy way to impress even the most un-impressible people. The kit varies in price but I got mine for $486.00. This price is for the universal lambo kit which have to be welded on, not a direct bolt in application. In turn though, the weld on kits are better because they are more stable than the bolt on kits are and do not stretch as much as the weld ons do. But with all modifications, a little adjustments are always needed. The hinges have two allen head bolts that adjust how far they go down and how far they come up. But in all, having lambo doors is the best way to impress people.
