B18 Engine Swap

B18 Acura Integra engine swaps into Honda civic's are one of the most common swaps to perform. This is due to the simplicity and horsepower gains one receives when the switch is made. I performed the engine swap in a weekend but it can be done faster if all bolts are not rusted or seized. The ONE new part that is needed to perform the swap into a Honda civic hatchback is the shift linkage; the one from the Integra or the civic will not fit. There are only a couple of companies who make these shifter's and I bought mine from Hasport.com. There were no problems with the installation of the linkage and the fit was perfect. Also, the trans axles have to be from the B18 but can be from a B16 also. All of the wiring matches up with each other except the O2 sensor; that I had to hard wire into my ECM. But it's all worth it because of the shear horsepower difference. With my swap, I have a stock B18 engine with Skunk 2 headers, B16 tranny, cold air intake, and a catback exhaust which combined beat a new Nissan 350 Z in a quarter mile!
